Peer Review Process

JACNCS follows a strict double-blind peer review process — neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other's identity throughout the review. Our target is a final editorial decision within 30 working days of submission.

Step-by-Step Review Workflow

Step 1 — Submission

Authors submit their manuscript via the online submission form. A unique reference number is generated immediately upon submission.

Step 2 — Technical Screening (1–5 Days)

The editorial office checks the manuscript for completeness, adherence to author guidelines, plagiarism screening, and scope alignment. Non-conforming manuscripts are returned to authors at this stage.

Step 3 — Editor Assignment (1–3 Days)

The Editor-in-Chief assigns the manuscript to an Associate Editor with expertise in the relevant specialty.

Step 4 — Reviewer Invitation (2–5 Days)

A minimum of two independent expert reviewers are invited. Reviewers are selected based on expertise and absence of conflict of interest with the authors.

Step 5 — Peer Review (15–21 Days)

Reviewers assess the manuscript on scientific validity, originality, methodology, clarity, and clinical/research significance. They provide structured comments and a recommendation.

Step 6 — Editorial Decision

Possible decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. All decisions are communicated with reviewer feedback.

Step 7 — Revision & Re-review

Revised manuscripts are assessed by the handling editor and, if necessary, returned to reviewers. Authors must submit a detailed response-to-reviewers letter.

Step 8 — Production & Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, typesetting, proofing, and final online publication with a DOI assigned via CrossRef.

Review Integrity

JACNCS's review process complies with COPE guidelines. Reviewers are asked to declare conflicts of interest and are expected to maintain confidentiality throughout.
